Tourist arrivals to the Maldives increases

The Maldivian Tourism Ministry announced on Sunday that tourist arrivals have increased by 44 percent this year.
According to the ministry, up to 560,996 tourists arrived in the Maldives by Wednesday, representing a 44 percent increase over the same period last year.
In January, there were 131,764 arrivals, 149,008 in February, 150,739 in March, and 129,485 in April.
According to the ministry, the average daily arrival figure was 4,795 and tourists stayed in the Maldives for 8.5 days on average.
According to the ministry, the majority of arrivals are from the United Kingdom, while Russia, which was the largest source country at the start of the year, has dropped to third place with 56,162 tourist arrivals.
