TMA Wins Big at the World Travel Awards 2020

Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) has been recognized as the Indian Ocean’s Leading Seaplane Operator for a 7th consecutive time, and the World’s Leading Seaplane Operator of the year for the 6th time in succession at the World Travel Awards 2020.

Established in 1993, World Travel Awards is the most prestigious distinction program in the global travel and tourism industry. The awards have been recognized globally as the ultimate hallmark of industry excellence. It serves to acknowledge, reward, and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry.
Since its inception in 1989, TMA has represented the synonym for connecting the Maldives islands. It is the oldest air services operator in the Maldives and has grown to become the largest seaplane operator in the world.
TMA operates its seaplane terminal at Velana International Airport with several resort lounges and other amenities. They transport about 1 million passengers by year.
TMA has been considered as the backbone of tourism infrastructure in the country, playing a significant role in enhancing and facilitating the growth of the tourism industry in the Maldives.
