Thai AirAsia Is Launching International Flights To Key Asian Markets
On April 4, Thai AirAsia and the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) announced their readiness to jointly promote travel to Thailand in key ASEAN and South Asian markets, including India, by utilizing the airline’s expanding regional flight network.
In the presence of Tanes Petsuwan, TAT Deputy Governor for International Marketing – Asia and South Pacific, and Santisuk Klongchaiya, CEO, Thai AirAsia, both parties shared their plans for collaboration in boosting tourism numbers back to Thailand.
The airline’s focus will be on seven key ASEAN and South Asian markets, with a total of 18 international routes connecting the kingdom of Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, the Maldives, and India.
TAT anticipates that the third quarter will be a good time for market-driven operations, which will benefit Thailand’s tourism industry in the second half of this year. In a best-case scenario, 10 million foreign tourists will visit Thailand in 2022, generating 625.8 billion Baht in tourism revenue. From April 2022 onwards, ASEAN region source markets are expected to begin traveling.
