The Maldives reopened its borders to international tourists on 15th July with the reopening of several resorts and liveaboards. Guesthouses also resumed operations on 15th October. There is no quarantine on arrival but all tourists are required to fill an online health declaration form within 24 hours before departure and submit a negative COVID-19 PCR test result, conducted a maximum of 96 hours before departure to the country.
The Maldives has recently introduced the first COVID-19 travel insurance in the country, Allied Inbound, which covers medical charges, isolation facility charges, emergency medical transportation, and interment charges following a positive diagnosis for COVID-19 during their stay in the country.
