
The Ministry of Tourism has unveiled the logo which will be used to celebrate and promote the country’s Golden Jubilee Year of Tourism. The year 2022 will mark the 50th anniversary of the Maldives tourism industry. Industry pioneers and partners gathered for this inauguration ceremony.
Chairman of Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI), Mohamed Umar Manik, unveiled the logo during a virtual ceremony. Following the unveiling, MU Manik remarked on the last 49 years of the tourism industry in the Maldives and stressed the number of challenges in promoting tourism in the initial phase.
Tourism industry pioneers, Vice Chairman of MATI, Mr. Hussein Afeef and Minister of Health, Honorable Ahmed Naseem, and the first Minister of Tourism Ministry of Tourism Launches Tourism Golden Jubilee Year Logo Honorable Ahmed Mujuthaba also addressed the gathering. Apart from this, the Managing Director of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation, Mr. Thoyyib Mohamed, and the President of Guesthouse Association Mr. Abdulla Nasheed spoke at the ceremony.
The logo was designed by Abdulla Nashaath and Mohamed Azlif to reflect the rich heritage, culture, and environment of Maldives.
In 2022, the Maldives will mark 50 years since the inception of the tourism industry in the Maldives. Several promotional and celebratory campaigns have launched with more to follow in the upcoming year.
The ceremony was concluded by the Minister of Tourism, Honorable Dr. Abdulla Mausoom. In his speech, he highlighted the need for local participation and empowerment in the tourism industry of Maldives.
The logo was designed by Ahmed Nashath and Mohamed Azlif and symbolizes the Maldives’ rich environment, culture, and heritage
