LUX* South Ari Atoll Unveils New Eco-Initiatives With Edible Straws And Many More

The LUX* Soth Ari Atoll has been well known for their enthusiasm and initiatives towards an eco-friendly lifestyle, ranging from guest experiences to he very basic operations of the resort. Earlier this year the resort was awarded as the ‘Leading Eco-Friendly Resort in the Maldives’ at the South Asian Travel Awards 2019.
One of the new additions to the already famed eco-friendly lifestyle of the resort is the Edible Straws. The biodegradable straws are made from cooked rice flour, tapioca starch and water, lasting for a maximum time of an hour before they get dissolved.
The brands’ signature Café LUX* will be also doing their bit by introducing biodegradable bamboo cups. Guests can now enjoy the best coffee in the Maldives in their very own way being eco-friendly. Bamboo fibre is used with biodegradable, dishwasher friendly silicon lids to make these coffee cups. The resort also offers guests a piece of eco-friendly memento by the resort’s retail shop.
