Discover the secrets of the Maldives night sky at Anantara Kihavah

Nestled within the Anantara group’s most luxurious resorts, Kihavah unveiled its shiniest new addition, SKY, an overwater observatory and bar offering stunning views of the cosmos through their very own telescope and the wisdom of their in-house astronomer, the SKY Guru.
As the night unfolds, guests can kick back, with one of the bar’s signature island cocktails in hand, to ponder the vastness of the universe and discover extraordinary experiences that enlighten couple’s romance and family adventure.
TIME AND WONDER
Enclosed by endless panoramas of the sky and sea, this is the first and only observatory in the Maldives, featuring a research-grade Meade LX200 telescope mounted on a super-giant field tripod. Remote controlled with 360˚ movement, the powerful telescope opens up a whole new world of wonder.
Set on a wonderfully secluded location far from light pollution and due to its proximity to the equator, stars from both the northern and southern hemispheres are visible. Hence stargazers can observe an incredible celestial display of constellations without any barriers. The Sky Guru will lead guests on their stargazing journey pointing out the pale-yellow rings of Saturn, the counter-rotating zones and belts of Jupiter that vary in width, colour and intensity from year to year, the 300,000 stars that make up the Messier 13 and the Omega Centauri, a globular cluster in the Milky Way.
