Kurumba Maldives announces the appointment of their new General Manager, Andrew Jansson. Appointed on 01st September 2019, Andrew will now be responsible for the entire operations and future operations of the very first resort opened in the Maldives
Andrew has been around the world on his career in the hospitality industry. His journey started in his home country of Sweden- now he has worked in 4 continents and 14 countries. Andrew is not a new comer to the Maldives, his first venture in the Maldives was back in 2009 at Shangri-la Villingili Resort and Spa as the F&B Director. His last time in the Maldives was a 3 year of service as the Resort Manager of One&Only Reethi Rah. Andrew is a graduate of Les Roches Hotel Management School in Bluche, Switzerland, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Endicott College, Boston, MA. With this vast array of experience in the industry Andrew Jansson is one of the most passionate individuals in the Maldivian hospitality industry.
Coming back to the Maldives feels like coming home. The Maldives holds a special place in my heart, and it is an honour to be back at the helm of the first resort ever in the country. Kurumba Maldives was the very first resort island to be opened in the Maldives at the very dawn of the tourism industry in the Maldives all the way back in 1972. Located just a short 10-minute speedboat ride away from the Velana International Airport. Named after the Coconut tree, Kurumba Maldives features a rich tropical vegetation and white sandy beaches.
