Amilla Maldives Joins Small Luxury Hotels of the World

Amilla Maldives Resort and Residences has become a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH).
Amilla is one of only five Maldives high-end resorts in SLH’s portfolio of partner hotels.
Amilla, as one of the few Maldivian-owned and operated luxury resorts in the Maldives, strives to celebrate and elevate Maldivian talent, such as local artists and musicians, and to work with local suppliers such as fishermen and agricultural smallholdings where possible.
This dedication extends to the natural world as well. Amilla Maldives is located within the Baa Atoll UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, and as part of its conservation and environmental efforts, the resort has pledged to help regenerate corals in the area with the assistance of its resident marine biologist, reduce energy waste, and to recycle as much refuse as possible.
Amilla’s Sustainability and Wellness Mentor, Victoria Kruse, stated, “SLH is such an incredible quality mark that it lends credibility to Amilla and supports the dwindling number of small privately owned properties around the world that are fighting to remain independent and offer unique experiences for guests seeking something different from the cookie cutter experience. We are extremely proud to be accepted into this organization’s elite group of hotels and look forward to welcoming SLH’s Invited guests to our naturally lush island.”
Amilla Maldives recently reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability by earning Silver EarthCheck certification.
