
Alitalia to resume its seasonal flights to Male, Maldives during the 2019/2020 winter. Alitalia has been operating flights to the destination since October 2018. Almost after a year later Alitalia has flown thousands and thousands of travelers into the holiday destinations.
Maldives will welcome flights from Rome Fiumicino and Milab Malpensa. As Maldives aims to welcome more than 1.5 million tourists during this year, this will be an added boost. From 25th December 2019 to 06th January 2020, Alitalia will increase its offer from Rome and Malé by adding two departures on December 26th and January 02nd. We will see 6 frequencies per week that will be proposed during the end of the year holidays from Rome, in addition to two from Milan.
An event will take place in Paris at the end of September, specifically dedicated to the Maldives. The event will bring together Alitalia partners specializing in the Indian Ocean destination.
As the end of July, Italian tourists shared a total of 8.1% of the tourists arriving to the Maldives since the beginning of this year. European market has been the leading market in terms of tourists visiting to the Maldives since the very start of tourism in the Maldives.
